Submit paper
To submit a paper, please submit it to submissions@ijoeconomicmatters.com
Before you do so, please adhere to the guidelines below.
General style of your submission: Use the Harvard reference system. There is no suggested upper or lower limit for paper size, as it is a function of the purpose of your paper. The language of the journal is English (for international contributors and readers of the journal, it can be British or American English, as long as you are consistent). It is a journal policy that consistency of style throughout your paper is central to communicating your contribution rather than a one size fits all rule. That said: Please be sure that your paper is single-spaced and uses an 11-point Times New Roman font for the body. Your text, including headings, should be left-justified. In headings (14-point, bold) and subheadings (12-point, italic), only the first word is capitalized. Number sections (headings and subheadings) with 1 and 1.1. and 2 and 2.2. and so on. Spell out all abbreviations at the first use in the body of the article and use abbreviated forms thereafter (if used more than once). Tables and figures must be included in the manuscript where they are to appear. Any people, organisations or sponsors you would like to thank may be mentioned in an acknowledgements section immediately before your list of references. On the title page of your submission, please provide: A title: Please provide a main title that is informative and/ or captures attention. In the latter case, you may want to add an informative sub-title. An abstract: Please supply an abstract of up to 130 words. Please structure your abstract with the following sections: Purpose (the purpose of the paper in one sentence only; if you need more than one sentence, chances are that your purpose it not as clear as it could be); Method (the path deployed to fulfil the purpose); Results or Conclusions (clearly reflect the purpose - i.e. the purpose of the paper is fulfilled. Make sure that the connection (fulfilment) of the purpose is explicit and crystal clear); Implications (practical or theoretical). Even if you do not explicitly use the sections above in your abstract, please follow this logic (without a clear purpose of some sort that has been fulfilled, your paper is flawed). Keywords: For indexing purposes, please include five keywords that describe your paper. If you do not supply keywords, the journal will choose keywords deemed suitable for the paper. List of authors: Please list the full names, titles, and affiliations of all authors, including e-mail, on the title page (this information will later be removed for blind peer review).
Peer revew and publication fee This journal uses double-blind review, normally 2 reviewers, but on occasion 3. The final decision on the manuscript rests with the editor. When a paper is accepted for publication the author is issued with an invoice for payment of a publication processing fee (US$ 200). There is no submission charge as such, only the publication processing fee after the paper is accepted for publication. Payment of this charge allows the journal to recover its editorial and production costs and create a pool of funds that can be used to sponsor research, conferences, et. cetera.
